New Track (for me) / Nuova Pista (almeno per me)

I took the chance to try out a track that is located some 700km away. Since I was having my summer vacation in France, I decided to bring the racer along and try out this: Circuit du Var, Le Luc. The organizer, the Italian Gully Racing, is just one of the best guys ya can meet out there. Polite, kind, and great to drive all the way there to let us poor bastards racing like no tomorrow. Pity he couldn't full fill the day, we were only 15 riders, but this gave us the change to really enjoy the track. The track is funny. Ups and downs, mostly right hand corners, with a fantastic, yet, hard, main straight ending... on a soft (but blind) left corner, leaving then no space to back off to face the right hand hairpin that follows :) Wow! Being my 1st time there I did a 1:01, which isn't bad... and at least makes me happy :) Weather was superb, even if way too hot, and the company was great too. I loved the day. Ho colto l'occasione di provare una pista a 700km da casa. Siccome ero in ferie in Francia, ho deciso di portarmi la moto da pista e provare a girare qui: Circuit du Var, Le Luc. L'organizzatore, Gully Racing, è una persona fantastica, una delle migliori che s'incontrano nella scena. Gentile, corretto, e un grande a venire fin li per far girare noi poveri bastardi :-) Mi spiace non abbia riempito l'evento (rimettendoci), ma questo ci ha dato l'opportunità di avere la pista tutta per noi, che eravamo solo in 15. La pista è divertente. Ha salite e discese, quasi tutta a destra, con un fantastico, anche se difficile, rettilineo che finisce in una curva a sinistra, cieca, per poi non lasciarti piu' spazio per la frenata necessaria per affrontare il tornantino a destra. FIGATA! Essendo la mia prima volta li, ho spuntato un 1:01, il quale non è malaccio, e comunque mi fa felice. Il tempo è stato stupendo (come sempre in quelle zone), e la compagnia pure Grande giornata. Un saluto particolare a Daniele ed il suo amico Grande giornata. Ecco un paio di video ed alcune foto:

OK, Rijeka racetrack. You that read this. How fast can you go? Personally I am working to get my 1:49 lower and lower. I am learning, I am improving. But how fast can one really go?? Check it out:

I love Grobnik

I really love this track. I am getting used to it, learning it and every time I go there I see I am improving. People I meet is super. My box mates are great. It's a pleasant environment in a glorious racetrack. I had to play with setup this time. Bike was oversteering first and understeering then, untill I adjust it well.

Amo davvero questa pista. Mi ci sto abituando ed ogni volta che ci vado miglioro un po'. La gente che trovo è stupenda. I miei compagni di box sono mitici. E' un'atmosfera stupenda in una pista mitica. Ho dovuto giocare un po' con l'assetto questa volta. Prima era sovrasterzante, poi sottosterzante, fino a quanto ho trovato la soluzione.

Adria 14th May 2011

I finally managed to test my 2011 version bike in my home track. Testing upgrades on a track you know well is good for actually verifying the improvements. Moreover I just added the sexy quick shifter to my gear lever and connected it to the Power Commander PCIII USB. PURE SEX. I never had such an erotic experience on a motorcycle since..... probably the day I kneed slided first time :-) It is such a great feeling to keep the damn throttle wide Fucking open and simply kick gears in. Oh yeah babe! :-) 'nuff said.... Enjoy pics.....

Finalmente ho provato la moto con le modifiche 2011 sulla mia pista di casa. Provare le modifiche in una pista che si conosce bene è il modo migliore per verificare l'effettivo vantaggio apportato. Inoltre ho appena installato il cambio elettronico, connesso alla Power Commandere PCIII USB. EROTISMO PURO! Non ricordo una simile goduriosa esperienza ... probabilmente dalla prima volta che ho messo giù il ginocchio. :-) E' così fico tenere spalancato e calciare la leva del cambio per metter dentro marce! Oh yeah babe! :-) 'basta chiacchiere.... Gustatevi le foto.....

Track only / Solo Pista

It may sound impossible, but, despite the super nice weather, I haven't really ridden any endless route or incredible amount of passes. To tell you the truth I haven't ridden at all. On the road. Yes, I am so busy lately that all I can get is ... time for racetrack :) Last Rijeka event was superb, and we're looking forward for the next one in few days. Meanwhile I am upgrading (Again) the bike with some quick shifter (cell by SP Electronics, connected to the DynoJet Power Commander USB III), and I look forward to a nice test soon in Adria.

Vi sembrerà impossibile ma, nonostante il bel tempo, non ho percorso giri da 1000km e nemmeno da un numero infinito di passi. Per la verità non sono proprio andato in moto. Per Strada. Si, sono cosi' impegnato che riesco appena a ricavare il tempo per la pista :) L'ultima data a Rijeka è stata una figata e presto ne abbiamo un'altra. Intanto sto modificando (di nuovo) la moto con il cambio elettronico (cella di carico by SP Electronics, connessa alla Power Commander USB III della, e spero di collaudare il tutto molto presto ad Adria.

Few laps / Pochi giri

This is a post without pics. There aren't many pics to be taken. On April 2nd, avoiding fools' day, I still managed to be fooled... by the gearbox! My first 2011 track experience (Adria) lasted less than one hour. Gearbox stuck. I was amazed of my bike performance after winter upgrade. I was riding without pushing and the GPS laps timer was already showing my 2010 best times, times I did pushing hard. Then it got stuck, and I was forced home Luckly today my workshop fixed it, and now I aim to Rijeka on April 13rd. Stay tuned!

Questa volta senza foto. Non c'è nulla da fotografare. Il due di Aprile, evitando il pesce d'aprile, mi sono comunque ritrovato con un pesce grosso... nel cambio! La mia prima uscita in pista (Adria) del 2011 è durata meno di un'ora. Cambio inchiodato. Ero felice della performance della mia moto dopo le modifiche invernali. Giravo senza spingere, ed il mio cronometro GPS già mi dava i migliori tempi del 2011, ottenuti spingendo sul serio. Dopo s'è inchiodato tutto e sono tornato a casa. Fortunatamente oggi il mio meccanico ha riparato il guasto ed ora punto a Rijeka il 13 Aprile. A risentirci!

Track bike READY! / Moto da Pista PRONTA!

And I hope to test it pretty soon!! After all the upgrades, I did a dyno run, and I get 105Hp at wheel. Pretty good for a 10 years old 600cc!

E spero di provarla PRESTO! L'ho messa al banco dopo tutte le modifiche: 105 cavalli alla ruota. Non male per una 600cc vecchia di 10 anni.
