Track only / Solo Pista

It may sound impossible, but, despite the super nice weather, I haven't really ridden any endless route or incredible amount of passes. To tell you the truth I haven't ridden at all. On the road. Yes, I am so busy lately that all I can get is ... time for racetrack :) Last Rijeka event was superb, and we're looking forward for the next one in few days. Meanwhile I am upgrading (Again) the bike with some quick shifter (cell by SP Electronics, connected to the DynoJet Power Commander USB III), and I look forward to a nice test soon in Adria.

Vi sembrerà impossibile ma, nonostante il bel tempo, non ho percorso giri da 1000km e nemmeno da un numero infinito di passi. Per la verità non sono proprio andato in moto. Per Strada. Si, sono cosi' impegnato che riesco appena a ricavare il tempo per la pista :) L'ultima data a Rijeka è stata una figata e presto ne abbiamo un'altra. Intanto sto modificando (di nuovo) la moto con il cambio elettronico (cella di carico by SP Electronics, connessa alla Power Commander USB III della, e spero di collaudare il tutto molto presto ad Adria.

Few laps / Pochi giri

This is a post without pics. There aren't many pics to be taken. On April 2nd, avoiding fools' day, I still managed to be fooled... by the gearbox! My first 2011 track experience (Adria) lasted less than one hour. Gearbox stuck. I was amazed of my bike performance after winter upgrade. I was riding without pushing and the GPS laps timer was already showing my 2010 best times, times I did pushing hard. Then it got stuck, and I was forced home Luckly today my workshop fixed it, and now I aim to Rijeka on April 13rd. Stay tuned!

Questa volta senza foto. Non c'è nulla da fotografare. Il due di Aprile, evitando il pesce d'aprile, mi sono comunque ritrovato con un pesce grosso... nel cambio! La mia prima uscita in pista (Adria) del 2011 è durata meno di un'ora. Cambio inchiodato. Ero felice della performance della mia moto dopo le modifiche invernali. Giravo senza spingere, ed il mio cronometro GPS già mi dava i migliori tempi del 2011, ottenuti spingendo sul serio. Dopo s'è inchiodato tutto e sono tornato a casa. Fortunatamente oggi il mio meccanico ha riparato il guasto ed ora punto a Rijeka il 13 Aprile. A risentirci!

Track bike READY! / Moto da Pista PRONTA!

And I hope to test it pretty soon!! After all the upgrades, I did a dyno run, and I get 105Hp at wheel. Pretty good for a 10 years old 600cc!

E spero di provarla PRESTO! L'ho messa al banco dopo tutte le modifiche: 105 cavalli alla ruota. Non male per una 600cc vecchia di 10 anni.

Winter / Inverno

Hello! Long time no updates, huh? I've been busy for several reasons. This picture should explain

Hey! Un po' di tempo che non scrivo, eh? Sono stato un po' impegnato. Questa foto dovrebbe darvi un'idea del perchè:

Meanwhile I am doing quite a lot of works on the bikes, both. The mighty RF900 has been rebuild on the carburettors side. New everything in there: diaphrams, jets, springs, dynojets, gaskets here and there, valves adjustment. Compression test, after over 90,000km still turned out with brilliant results and no differences between cylinders. The GSXR is being massively updated: exhaust, Ohlins all around, removal of further useless stuff, short stroke throttle, Brembo radial pump...

Nel frattempo sto facendo un bel po' di lavori alle moto, entrambe. L'RF900 è stata sottoposta ad una revisione totale dei carburatori. Nuove membrane, getti, guarnizioni, ecc ecc, gioco valvole ed altro. Il test di compressione dopo oltre 90,000km ha dato un valore ampiamente dentro i margini, con una perfetta uguaglianza tra i cilindri. La GSXR è in fase di massiccio aggiornamento: scarico, Ohlins, rimozione di altra roba inutile, rapido, pompa radiale Brembo.

Last ride of the season / Ultimo giro della stagione

After over a month of complete inactivity, due to and incredible amount of rain and un-rideable weather, I manager to have a go today. Only 73km, as it was pretty cold. Yesterday it snowed, so the sunny day we had today was superb, but it couldn't make the tarmac any good. So I enjoyed a slow pace, and managed to take some pics. It was great to be back on saddle after so long. Now the bike will undergo some massive restoring (the 15th year service!). I plan to take engine out and apart, to make it ready for next season, and for many many many more km. Stay tuned!

Dopo un mese completamente fermo a causa della pioggia senza fine e di tempo normalmente anti-moto, oggi finalmente sono riuscito a risalire in sella. Solo 73km, in quanto faceva abbstanza freddo. Ieri è nevicato, quindi la bella giornata di oggi non ha comunque potuto offire un asfalto decente. Quindi mi sono goduto un ritmo rilassato ed ho fatto alcune foto. E' stato bello tornare in sella dopo tanto tempo. Ora la moto sarà sottoposta ad una bella revisione (il tagliando dei 15..... ANNI!). Ho in programma di tirar giu' il motore e prepararlo per la prossima stangione, per molti molti altri km. A ri-leggerci!

Yellow autumn leaves / Foglie gialle d'autunno

Yesterday I went for what I think is gonna be the last ride of the season. Well, at least the last SERIOUS ride of the season. Offspring soon and colder climate will reduce my riding up there in the mountains questo autunno. I managed to ride 360km (calculated, as my fucking speedo cable broke again). Colours of the autumn are lovely, and up there, on the top of the passes (6 of those) temperature is pretty low (7°C), but the view is amazing, especially now, with few people around.

Ieri ho fatto, probabilmente, l'ultimo giro della stagione. O, per meglio dire, l'ultimo giro serio. Imminente paternità e clima non proprio estivo, ridurranno il mio vagabondare tra le montagne durante questo autunno. Ho fatto 360km (calcolati, in quanto il cavo del conta km si è rotto di nuovo!!). I colori dell'autunno sono bellissimi, e, lassù, in cima ai passi (6 per la cronaca) la temperatura è bassina (7°C), ma la vista è impressionante, specie ora che circola poca gente.
