True passion knows no seasons (and this is the real social network)!

It's winter. This season usually forces us to lock your ride, cover it, keep it safe, waiting for a beautiful spring to come. Bike insurance gets stopped, and one just forgets about how great it is to ride, until it becomes impossible to resist.
Usually this urge comes when temperatures start to be less freezing, maybe in late February or early March (for those living in the northern hemisphere), but sometimes it shows up much earlier, such as a couple of days before xmas!
Finding myself in the unbelievable condition of having free day all alone, I ignored the season, the temperature, the ice and hopped in the saddle and went for a short one.
I didn't even think to ride mountains (no access, maybe... due to snow) not even that far away. Simply went in the valley where my Motoclub is, just to relax and chill out. Once there I found out I wasn't the only one with this physical and psychological need, two more die hard riders where there, and one more arrived shortly afterward.
I never met those three guys before, and if I did I don't remember. But it's easy: you meet people riding when nobody is riding, facing the slippery roads, the freezing temperature and the ice surface when approaching the club headquarter... so you simply become friends, have a chat, few jokes... spending a lovely octanes driven half a hour, before exchanging the season greetings, putting the helmet back on and ride away to the place one comes from.

The real social network? Trust me, this is the one. I love these random unexpected meetings with riders that do not follow fashion or details. Motorcycles, winter, ice, a meeting point, few jokes, then everybody back home to recover the proper temperature of the body.

A true passion cannot be stopped. It can be parked sideways for a while, it can be in some hiatus, but it cannot be stopped once and for all. That urge sooner or laters shows up, and -trust me- it's better indulge it!
