Yet another new date / Ancora posticipo data

Well, strikes, weather, storm, rain, job.. whatever..... We have now TWO set days. I just hope we can do it one of the two. They're going to be: July 15th or July 16th Crossing fingers...	Tra scioperi, tempo, tormente, temporali, pioggia, impegni di lavoro... di tutto... siamo ancora qui. Abbiamo DUE nuovi giorni per il Culo di Titanio 2009. Spero solo che almeno in uno dei due la cosa sia fattibile. Si tratta dei giorni: 15 Luglio o 16 Luglio Dita incrociate....

Gas Station strike / sciopero benzinari

So those fuckers are, apparently, on strike on July 8th & 9th. FUCK THEM. if this shit gets confirmet, do ya know where they can stick their damn gas station pumps????

Sono in sciopero. Di nuovo. Bastardi. L'8 ed il 9 luglio! Ma che cazzo c'hanno da scioperare?????????? MA VAFFANCULO! Se sta storia si conferma domattina, sapete dove si possono infilare le loro pompe di benzina?

More accurate map checking (different sources) told us the passes are actually 28 :-)

Una piu' accurata lettura di varie mappe (differenti fonti) ci dice che i passo sono 28 :-)

26 PASSES / 26 PASSI

Today I went for a massive ride (648km)... while my Culo partner evaluated maps I sent him. As a result, we found we actually ride across some more passes than what I previously said: 26. Hence here the new table, with updates:

Oggi mi son fatto un giretto esplorativo di 648km... mentre il mio collega ha dato un'occhiata alle mappe che gli ho inviato. Risulta che, in realtà, passiamo sopra piu' passi di quelli che pensavamo: 26. Ecco la tabella aggiornata:

Well... how couldn't I show you the map of those 648km? I followed the CdT2009 map till point #13. Then I leaded east toward Merano, then down on Passo Palade. Joined Passo Mendola, then the Wine Road and finally all the way down south, to home. Follows the google map and the map as a picture

Come posso evitare di dirvi qualcosa sui 648km di oggi? Ho seguito il CdT2009 fino al punto 13 (Circa). Poi est verso Merano, sud su Passo Palade, poi Passo Mendola, quindi strada del Vino fino a Trento... e poi sud, fino a casa. Segue mappa google ed immagine del giro.

2009 ROUTE / IL PERCORSO 2009

So... here is the route for this year Culo Di Titanio. Some 1100km, about 23 passes, 2 countries. Comapred to 2008 we skip Switzerland and put more Austria on it. We removed the ERBE Pass part, because it's so slow and bumpy, but we added coupla great passes: Rombo and Pennes. Don't forget we do this from dawn to sunset. Here the 2 maps that this is all about:

Ebbene... ecco il tracciato per il Culo di Titanio 2009. Si tratta di circa 1100km, 23 passi e due stati Rispetto all'anno scorso abbiamo saltato la Svizzera a favore di un giro piu' ampio nel paesaggio austriaco. Abbiamo eliminato la parte Passo ERBE in quanto troppo lenta, stretta e piena di buche. Pero' abbiamo aggiunto due mitici passi: il ROMBO ed il PENNES. Da non dimenticare che facciamo questo giro dall'alba al tramonto.... Ecco la mappa del primo pezzo, e del pezzo finale:

The mega ride of this year, that's gonna be the same as 2008, as we didn't complete it, will be held on JULY 9th Stay tuned, and cross finger for weather...... becaouse lately it has been so bad :)

Il mega giro di quest'anno, che sara' piu' o meno quello dell'anno scorso visto che non lo completammo, si terra' il giorno 9 LUGLIO Rimanete sintonizzati, e incrociate le dita per il tempo..... che ultimamente fa schifo! :)

30 no more / Non più il 30

It rains. It always rain. And when it doesn't, I am busy, or a storm is approaching, or rain is somewhere else (usually where I have to go to). So I cannot really do any training :-( Then there's work. Guess when I got a very important deal signature scheduled for? June 30th. Fuck it. New CdT date will be posted soon.

Piove. Piove sempre. E quando non piove, sono occupato, oppure sta per arrivare un temporale, o una tromba d'aria... oppure piove dove devo andare io (tipo sulle Dolomiti). Proprio non c'è verso di fare un po' di training per l'impresa :-( Poi c'è il lavoro. Immaginate quando ho un appuntamento MOLTO importante per la firma di un contratto? Il 30 Giugno! Fanculo. La nuova data del CdT la renderò nota il più presto possibile.

80,000 KM

This past weekend we rode all the way down to Bologna/Modena area, not far from Mugello where the Italian MotoGP race was being raced, in wet. We met with some friends from an online group and had a blast both on corners and restaurants. On our way down there my old bike, without dubt the most beautiful bike on earth (?!?!), hit the 80,000km threshold. And had at least other 500 before being back in her box, sleeping, waiting for a new set of tires, which is MUCH needed. Having reached this respectable target, I feel it'd pretty cool listing here what it has been through across these 12 years with me. So far it had: 15 oil changes 11 oil flters 11 spark plugs set 3 air filters (stock+K&N) 23 tires set 8 front brake pads sets 3 rear brake pads sets 1 front brake discs sets 1 clutch 4 chain+sprockets kits 2 gearbox failures 3 repainting 2 frame stretching (due to crash) 3 batteries ...all the above without counting in all the performance parts, like exhausts, springs, mirrors, bolts, jets and so on. How much have I wasted on this bike? Free beer to best guess :-)

Lo scorso weekend siamo finiti tra Bologna e Modena, non lontano dal Mugello. Era un raduno di MotoML, ed è stato un piacere mangiare e andare per curve con i ragazzi che non vedevo da molti anni. Nel viaggio di andata la povera vecchia moto mia, indubbiamente la più bella del mondo (?!?!), ha raggiunto gli 80,000km... e poi ne ha fatti altri 500, prima di poter tornare a casa nel box, in attesa di un treno di pneumatici freschi freschi per il Culo di Titanio che, ormai, si avvicina. Avendo raggiunto questo rispettabile traguardo, trovo figo elencare tutto ciò che ha dovuto subire in questi 12 anni in mia compagnia. Allora, ecco la lista: 15 cambi olio 11 cambi filtri olio 11 set candele 3 filtri aria (di serie e poi K&N) 23 treni di gomme 8 set di pastiglie freno anteriore 3 set di pastiglie freno posteriore 1 kit dischi anteriori 1 frizione 4 kit catena/corona/pignone 2 rotture al cambio 3 riverniciature più o meno complete 2 raddrizzamento telaio (in seguito a bel botto...) 3 batterie ...e tutto questo senza contare i vari pezzi extra come scarichi, molle, specchi, viti, getti e via di seguito. Ma quanto ci avrò speso sopra? Una birra a chi indovina :-)
