A Free Saturday: mountains, twisties, colors and SUN!

A miracle! A planetary alignment!
A Saturday that should have been spent at home, working on modifications to the heating system (Winter is coming...!), all of a sudden became FREE.
This is thanks to my two buddies from the motorcycle club: they helped me out on Friday (we had planned two days of work), but by 6 p.m. on the first day we were done!
And what can I do when, all of a sudden, I find myself with a free Saturday, brilliant weather, and a perfect temperature? Well, if you’re reading this blog, you already know the answer!
It turned out to be a 230 km ride across four passes: Cereda — a fast one despite some wet spots — Valles and Rolle (I usually ride them the other way around, so this was a fun variation on the theme), and finally Passo Crode d’Aune.
Not a bad way to work on your home’s heating system! After all, I did the same thing: I converted a hell of a lot of fuel into energy! Isn’t that what any heating system does?
For your immense pleasure, here are some photos... with those autumn views and colors:

Some problems with an Audi and a Ducati... (+10 passes, +420km, -3 points...)

May 1st.
Sun.
A summer like weather.
I set myself free from EVERYTHING, fill the tank and go.
Direction? Croce D'Aune Pass, as I did it few days before... but I caught the damn rain. It was just the first pass I wanted to attack, before deciding the next one, in a day that was just for me and my bike.
Having left at about 10:30AM, everyone was already where they had decided to spend the day (mostly doing BBQ), so... the roads were basically FREE! Free and clean, dry... it was the perfect day! I was in damn good shape, the bike has a brand new set of Metzeler M9RR and EBC brake pads... and this meant one single thing: throttle wide open and a hell lot of fun!
Croce D'Aune Pass warmed me up. Then the road to Rolle Pass was as fun as always, and the pass was simply magic. What's next? Passo Valles: can't believe I saw 150kph (or more) on that lovely road. Then San Pellegrino Pass... twisty like hell on one side, incredibly fast on the other one.
I was hot, I was needing more, I was needing more speed and more corners. So Costalunga Pass, followed by the amazing Lavazè Pass, adding the little Pramadiccio Pass for the sake of it.
First I was in Fassa Valley, then in Fiemme Valley... I love this up and down the passes, wandering free among these amazing valleys in the Dolomites.
At this point, given the loop, I could have pointed the front wheel down south, towards home... but I wasn't done yet, so... let's go north! Sella Pass (Sellajoch), amazing... Gardena Pass (Grödner Joch), so fun... and finally the 10th pass of the day!

As I start climbing it, I reach this idiot on a prototype Audi (See photos). I could recognize this SUV was an Audi as I have developed some kind of connection with these cars... or better yet, with their drivers: I simply hate them. They are the GS rider of the four wheels. They behave like they ruled the world, they think they got it bigger, they think they are the boss. But this Audi driver was the maximum expression of imbecility among Audi drivers: he was a tester! He was driving like mad, trying to drift it everywhere (with the electronic visibly trying to keep that fat four wheels pig on the road); not enough: he braked wherever he felt like, to take off immediately once again, showing off the amazing power of the car. I was riding in a cloud of tire smoke and toasted brake pads smell. I had two choices... stopping myself and letting some space between me and him, or finding a safe spot to overtake this idiot and continue my ride in peace.
I decided to overtake. As soon as the prototype Audi caught a blue pickup driving its way like a normal vehicle, the fucker had to slow down. Left blind corner, then a wide right bend, with visibility... and there I overtook. I decided to overtake on a corner, because on a straight sector the Audi would have overtook the pickup... adding more danger to his unsafe driving. As I was overtaking the Audi and the pickup, all of a sudden I saw the Audi stopping in a large clearing at the side of the road... and I spotted another car like that (so there were two of them!). I also saw a guy dressed in 'strange' way out of the corner of my eye... I didn't mind, and continued.

Few minutes later, not far away from where I overtook, a sirens blaring Ducati Multistrada ridden by a cop pulls me over. Fuck.
I stop roadside. The cop asked me why I overtook like I did. I explain the reason why. HA! He screams, we stopped that fucker as well, and his friend too (that was the reason the Audi stopped while I was overtaking... cops stopped it!). "What year?" "1995 I promptly reply". "Not the bike, you!"... "Follow me", he continues. So, off we ride back to the point I overtook, where his colleague was waiting with the Audi and the other cop's Ducati.
Overtake on a bend means bye bye driving license. But the cop understood why I did it. Sure, he perfectly knew I could have solved the problem elsewhere or simply stopping and letting the idiot go... so he fined me (cheap) and took 3 points off my poor driving license. Anyway, I stated on the cop record why I overtook. Just to make the idiot's legal position worse. “die Straße ist keine Rennstrecke!” cops yelled at the Audi landpilot in perferct german! While they were fining me and the Audi (his driving license is gone... dude, as a car tester ya need to find another job for a while! karma! ha!), few more riders were enjoying that corner... being stopped by the cops... being fined like me. At a point the road side clearing was so full of bikes and Audi in disguise, that I told the cop: "any food truck around? Tell it to come here, it's almost a piston heads meeting!"

Finally they let me go. I swear I rode almost carefully for few more kilometres... then I forgot the learned-lesson, and I was back to my normal reckless pace, riding these wonderful mountain roads. To complete the loop, I added the lovely Mis valley, with that amazing shiny lake.

What a day! 10 Passes, 420km, 8 hours spent riding... some 60€ fine... an a goodbye to three points on my driving license.
Primo maggio.
Sole.
Meteo estivo,

Karma!), altri motociclisti passavano 'allegramente' in quel punto... tutti fermati... tutti multati come me.

Chilling-out

Had some really intense days recently. Job and personal issues kept me very very busy.

Yesterday a friend texted me. I didn't reply... Friend texted again saying I am probably not relaxing, and that I must have been busy working for not replying...

Sure! So, when I stopped, I replied with these two photos, taken in this road you simply cannot go slow!

Philosophy?

Me, looking at the horizon. Wondering what’s coming up next. But damn eager to embrace every new upcoming day!

Yeah!

Sure!

Very philosophical, isn't it... but I was just taking a break after a reckless blast on the mighty Vezzena Pass!

Fast corners? Find them all along that road!

And between those corners, between one bend and another, the roar of the Suzuki engine has been definitely well heard... LOUD AND CLEAR!
Guardando l'orizzonte.

FORTE E CHIARO!

NO WORDS

Just wow. WOW! (The only photo stop in a very briskly ride! I had to test ride the bike after service and MOT!) Che figata! (Unica sosta di un giro molto pestato! Dovevo pur provare la moto dopo tagliando e revisione!)
